Backorder Policy

Backorder definition: An order placed for stock that is not immediately available for dispatch.

Various outside factors such as COVID-19 and the widely reported global shipping situation has led to a strain on stock management in almost every industry worldwide. To mitigate these issues, JM Wholesale has introduced a comprehensive backorder system which will provide freedom and full transparency when it comes to placing your orders with us.

JM Wholesale’s backorder system will allow orders to be placed for higher quantities of products that are not immediately available for dispatch. These items will then be dispatched as soon as they become available. This will usually be within 1-3 days of the original order being placed. If the products cannot be shipped within this timeframe, our customer service team will be in touch to keep you informed of the status of your order.

Should you place an order which includes backordered stock, you will receive a notification via email detailing exactly which products will be dispatched at a later stage. Once these items are available for dispatch (within 1-3 days), you will receive further notification with an updated tracking reference. The packing slip that is provided with each stage of the order will clearly indicate which items you have received.

When dispatching backorders, a different courier may be used than the one selected for the original order. This is dependent on the size, value, and delivery location of the backordered products.

Backorders are only applicable to orders shipped within the United Kingdom. Certain locations, such as Northern Ireland, Scottish Highlands or Channels Isles will need to be reviewed by our backorder team on a case-by-case basis. We will always ensure that you are kept up to date at every stage of the process.

In the event that we are unable to fulfil backordered items for any reason, our team will get in touch with you immediately to discuss available options. In these instances, we may offer to replace the backordered product(s) with a suitable alternative - often this will be a higher value item at no extra cost to yourself. Alternatively, a full refund will be issued for the backorder.

In accordance with our standard terms and conditions (link), backorder refunds for orders placed using bank transfer will be issued as a gift card to be used towards future orders. Refunds issued through credit or debit card may take up to 6 business days to be fully processed.

A product showing current stock in minus quantities indicates that we already have backorders in process for that item.

Whilst we will do our utmost to fulfil any backordered items, backorders are not guaranteed and are subject to current availability.

The above listed terms and conditions are in addition to our standard terms and conditions. Should you have any questions or queries regarding the details of this policy, please contact our sales team on 0116 273 1706 or sales@jm-wholesale.co.uk.
