Wholesale Vape Tanks & Atomisers Q & A

What is a vape tank?

The vape tank is essentially the vessel that contains the vape juice that fuels the vapour production. The vape tank also contains the coil. Tanks are normally cylindrical in shape, with a metallic top, and glass body. The stem runs up the centre, is attached to the coil, and connects to the mouthpiece.

The more recent tanks tend to be top-filling, and many are 'sub ohm'. Sub ohm means that they take coils with a resistance of less than 1 Ohm, which means that the coil heats up faster and more current is able to flow through it. The benefits that this offers to users include more vapour, better flavour, and more heat. Sub ohm tanks are also able to deal with a wide range of wattages.

When it comes to tanks and atomisers, each vaper has their own preference. This is reflected in the huge range of options available on the market. It is crucial to be able to offer your customers the products they want. As an experienced wholesaler, we can provide a huge selection of high-quality vape tanks and atomisers that would undoubtedly be a great addition to your store. Our products are carefully selected by experts and are budget-friendly.

What are rebuildable tanks?

Rebuildable tanks work in a very similar way to standard sub ohm tanks. The main difference is that the user has to make their own coil rather than buy ones that are pre-made. These tend to be used more by experienced vapers and can save money. Rebuildable tanks are also sometimes called RTAs (rebuildable tank atomisers).

Are vape tanks universal?

New vape kits will always come with a vape tank included, but the majority of tanks are now interchangeable. This means that tanks can be paired with almost all mods/pens as long as they have a 510 connection and a suitable output. This compatibility allows vapers to customise their experience by choosing a different tank.

What is a vape atomiser?

A vape atomiser is specifically the element in a vaporiser that converts the liquid (or other concentrate) into an inhalable vapour. However, in vaping circles, the word 'atomiser' is often used as an umbrella term for the unit holding the coil and wick. The atomiser in a vape pen or e-cigarette is powered by a battery that fuels the coil. The coil is heated to a high-temperature to ensure that the e-liquid evaporates on contact.

What are cartomisers and clearomisers?

The cartomiser was one of the first vaporiser products to be launched and is often found within an e-cigarette. It is an all-in-one device that is filled with a foam which has been pre-soaked with liquid. The foam contains the vape coils. Some cartomisers are now refillable (as they can be attached to a reservoir), but most need throwing away when empty.

The clearomiser is another all-in-one device. They are made mostly from transparent plastic or glass (hence their name). The main difference to the cartomiser is that clearomisers use a wicking system to 'feed' the atomiser.

What Tank Is Best For Me? Unravelling The Mysteries Of Vape Tanks

Finding the best vape tank for your needs can often feel like a daunting task, especially when faced with an overwhelming array of choices, ranging from clearomisers and sub ohm tanks to the high-end rebuildable tank atomisers (RTAs), rebuildable dripping atomisers (RDAs), and rebuildable dripping tank atomisers (RDTAs). This comprehensive guide will dive deep into the technical details of each type, helping you make an informed decision based on your vaping style and preferences.

Clearomisers

Starting our journey with clearomisers, they are essentially the most basic type of vape tank, making them perfect for beginners or those seeking simplicity. Clearomisers are typically constructed from a clear material (hence the name), allowing vapers to see the amount of e-liquid left.

Technically, clearomisers have a two-part design: a reservoir for your e-liquid and an atomiser head. The atomiser is responsible for heating the liquid and converting it into vapour. Their straightforward design, ease of use, and affordability make clearomisers a popular choice for newbie vapers or those looking for convenience.

Tanks

Moving on to the broader category of vape tanks, these include any device that holds and vaporises e-liquid. Tanks can have either pre-made or buildable atomiser heads, giving users more flexibility.

One significant feature of advanced vape tanks is adjustable airflow control. This feature allows vapers to customise their draw's tightness or looseness, directly influencing the balance between flavour intensity and cloud production. High-quality tanks also have top-fill designs, which prevent leakage and make refilling a breeze.

Sub Ohm Tanks

Sub ohm tanks have taken the vaping community by storm, renowned for their cloud production capabilities. They are called "sub ohm" because they use coils with a resistance of less than one ohm, which generates more heat and produces thicker, denser vapour.

Sub ohm tanks usually come with large adjustable airflows and utilize high VG (Vegetable Glycerin) e-liquids. They are best suited for direct-to-lung (DTL) vaping style, where the vapor is inhaled directly into the lungs, similar to how one would breathe in air.

Technically, sub ohm tanks have more advanced coil systems, often featuring multiple coils in various configurations (vertical, horizontal, mesh, etc.). This multi-coil system allows for better heat distribution, enhancing flavour and cloud production.

Rebuildable Tank Atomisers (RTAs)

If you're a tinkerer at heart, rebuildable tank atomisers (RTAs) are the way to go. RTAs give vapers the freedom to build their own coils, providing unparalleled customisation options.

An RTA consists of a deck where you install your coils and wicks, a chamber that goes over the deck, and a tank reservoir that holds the e-liquid. The wick draws the e-liquid from the tank to the coil, where it's heated to produce vapour.

Building your own coils requires some knowledge of Ohm's Law and battery safety, but it allows for complete control over resistance, coil material, and wick material. This customisation leads to excellent flavour and vapour production, providing a more tailored vaping experience.

Rebuildable Dripping Atomisers (RDAs)

Rebuildable Dripping Atomisers (RDAs) are the epitome of customisation in the vaping world. Like RTAs, they offer vapers the ability to build their own coils. However, instead of a tank reservoir, RDAs have a well where you drip e-liquid directly onto the coil and wick.

Technically, RDAs provide the best possible flavour and vapour production, as the vapor doesn't have to travel through a chimney-like in tank systems. This direct-drip method delivers the freshest possible flavour.

RDAs require more frequent e-liquid application, making them less convenient for on-the-go use. However, for vapers who prioritise flavour and vapour production, and enjoy the process of coil building, RDAs can offer a deeply satisfying experience.

Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomisers (RDTAs)

Rebuildable Dripping Tank Atomisers (RDTAs) represent a hybrid between RTAs and RDAs, aiming to combine the best of both worlds. They have a deck for coil-building like both devices, but also include a tank reservoir like an RTA and an open-top well design like an RDA.

The concept behind RDTAs is to provide the superior flavour and vapour production of an RDA with the convenience of a tank system. Vapers can manually drip e-liquid onto the coil when at home or use the tank system when on the go.

Choosing the best vape tank for you ultimately depends on your personal preferences, vaping style, and how much effort you're willing to invest in customisation and maintenance. From the simplicity of clearomisers and the cloud-chasing prowess of sub ohm tanks to the customisable nature of RTAs, RDAs, and RDTAs, there's a vape tank out there for every vaper.
